To continually improve my knowledge about community management, I’m constantly looking for the premier nonprofit and association community managers to learn from. When I find the best of the best, I invite them to join my company’s advisory board. Over the past few months I’ve assembled a small group of top-notch community managers to provide me with input on my business, and I want to let you know who they are:
Bonnie Church, Sr. Community Manager at Association of Christian Schools International
I’ve worked with ACSI for about three years now, and Bonnie is one of my star pupils. As Sr. Community Manager, she is in a fascinating and unique role, because she is responsible for training and overseeing dozens of junior community managers scattered around the world. Much of her job entails keeping her regional staff happy, so Bonnie has a terrific knack for understanding the human and political elements of community management.
Maggie McGary, Marketing Manager at American Occupational Therapy Association
Maggie is a longtime friend and prolific blogger on community management and social media. She has served as an outsourced community management resource for major brands and is always on the bleeding edge of community management. Maggie is quite possibly the most passionate advocate for community managers, so her involvement with Online Community Results is a natural fit.
Tom Morrison, CEO, Metal Treating Institute
I’ve known Tom for a long time and count him as a good friend. Tom runs a mid-sized trade association and is a firm believer in the return on engagement that an online community helps bring to organizations. He’s also an energetic and sought-after public speaker.
Anne-Margaret Olsson, Manager, Social Networking & Online Communities at Society for Human Resource Management
Anne-Margaret is a seasoned association executive, having been with SHRM in a variety of roles for a dozen years. Human resources is a risky business, so Anne-Margaret’s perspective is especially valuable to me when working with clients in equally sensitive professions or industries. SHRM also has one of the most well-polished communications programs among not-for-profit organizations, and that polish certainly rubs off on Anne-Margaret’s work. We currently serve together on ASAE’s Technology Section Council, and you see us speak together at ASAE’s 2014 Great Ideas Conference.
Know someone who would be a good fit for the Online Community Results advisory board? Think you’ve got the chops to join these community management all-stars? Drop me a line! I’m looking for more awesome community managers to give me feedback and advice on my business.
Surrounding yourself with intelligent women I see BK. Another smart move mate. Congrats on the progress of the company.
