6 Steps to a Kick-Ass Private Online Community

The bulk of our work can be summed up in these six steps to build an online community that lasts and produces ROI.
Before you even shop for a community platform you should have (1) documented your community strategy and (2) created a prioritized list of requirements. If you’ve not yet done this, I encourage you to set this guide aside and go back to step one.
Armed with a community strategy and requirements documentation, you’re ready for step (3), shop for a community platform.
Once your decision is made, the next big step (4) is implementing your software. Be prepared for a very different kind of technology implementation — it will probably be unlike any project you’ve ever encountered.
Step (5) is go-live and step (6) is growing and sustaining engagement in your new community. During these phases, it’s important to ensure you’ve allocated sufficient resources to develop and follow through on community management processes to nurture and maintain engagement long-term.
