Community Manager Appreciation Day is January 23, 2017, and I’m helping to organize this year’s event. It has turned out to be a VERY BIG job, but I view it as my way to give back to the profession and people who have helped me along the way. And I want to pay it forward to those who may help me in the future.
I’m joined by Maddie Grant, Susan Cato, KiKi L’Italien, and Maggie McGary in putting the event together. We’ve got some really exciting things in store:
- There will be an eight hour, live webathon from 9am to 5pm EST featuring some outstanding speakers, headlined by Jeremiah Owyang, the founder of Community Manager Appreciation Day.
- A Community Manager of the Year award, with a HUGE prize valued at over $1,000 including a complimentary registration to the CMX Summit, roundtrip airfare on Southwest Airlines, and a $500 travel stipend.
- We’re introducing a new tradition: The CMAD Cheers! At 5pm EST, we’ll have a special toast prepared for community managers, so be ready to raise your beer, coffee, coffee-flavored beer, champagne, champagne-flavored coffee, or whatever you want to imbibe, and join in the toast.
