After an association professional has that initial ah-ha! moment about how an online community could change their entire organization, (or industry for that matter) there isn’t a lack of curiosity. We get questions all the time about what vendor is best for certain needs and what is the price range and how long it takes to implement.
We hear you and yes, we agree with you that the association world needs a buyer’s guide for online communities.
Guess what? We’re here to deliver. That’s right! In November, Online Community Results will have a one-of-a-kind resource that will include detailed information from the top vendors in the not-for-profit private online community software space (say that 10 times!). Whether you’re looking to switch solutions or need to launch a new community, the downloadable guide will give you a healthy head start by giving you answers on how the vendors would respond to most of your initial questions. The guide will address variables that you need to know about a user’s experience such as resource library features, ease of messaging others within the community, mobile friendliness and other insights for the marketing, communications, government relations, PR, or membership types. It will also whet the appetite of any IT professional by addressing compatibility with AMS systems, open API, code base, design flexibility, and more.
Here’s a sneak peek at the vendors that you’ll see in the guide: Evoq Social, Groupsite, Higher Logic, Pathable, Socious, Small World Labs, and YourMembership.com.
What we’re not doing is creating a giant spreadsheet with a bunch of checkmarks or bullets that will cross your eyes. No two vendors are identical in culture or systems. Our goal for this paper is to provide a resource that will inform executives on who the key players are in the not-for-profit space and what features they bring to their solutions. Ultimately, this paper should assist with creating informed decisions on what vendors to demo.
Be the first to know when the paper is released! Provide us your name and email address in the field below and we’ll automatically send you the paper upon its release. We hope you’re looking forward to this resource as much as we are. Spread the word!

The online community software guide sounds like a great idea.
